Overview
Modified MetalCloak 4.5" long arm suspension with upgraded control arms, coils, and Fox 2.0 Coilovers (16" Front / 14" Rear). Finally has the articulation and ground clearance the frame deserves.
Tools Needed
- • Floor jack and jack stands
- • Torque wrench (up to 200 ft-lbs)
- • Spring compressor
- • Socket set and wrenches
- • Alignment tools or professional alignment
- • Pry bars and hammer
Materials Used
- • MetalCloak Modified 4.5" Long Arm Suspension Kit (TJ)
- • Fox Racing Shox 2.0 Coilovers 16" Front / 14" Rear
- • Adjustable control arms and track bar relocation bracket
Estimated Time
Approximately 8-12 hours (including alignment).
Installation Steps
Remove Old Suspension
Jack up the vehicle, support the frame, remove old shocks, coils, control arms, and track bar.
Install Long Arm Kit
Mount the modified MetalCloak long arm brackets and arms. Ensure proper alignment of bushings.
Install Fox 2.0 Coilovers
Install 16" front and 14" rear Fox coilovers. Adjust for proper ride height.
Reinstall Control Arms and Track Bar
Attach adjustable control arms and relocated track bar. Torque all fasteners to spec.
Alignment and Test Drive
Get a professional alignment. Test for proper articulation and ride quality.
Results
The suspension now provides excellent articulation and clearance thanks to the modified MetalCloak long arm and Fox coilovers.
